While most of the UK is now working from home, for some this is not an option.
For NHS workers, not only are they required to be on the front line, but they are working extra hours and risking their own health by continuing to go into hospitals and surgeries every day to help others.
It’s at times like these when you can’t help but be extremely grateful to everyone working in the medical industry, and a number of restaurants are offer discounts to NHS staff to show its appreciation.
New offers are popping up regularly, but I thought I would pull together a list of the best deals available now:
- Pret – Free hot drinks and 50% off everything else
- Carluccio’s – 50% off and free hot takeaway drinks
- McDonalds – Free take-away coffees
- Leon – 50% off with free deliveries
- Itsu – 50% off
- Gusto Italian – 50% off on takeaways
- WH Smith – 20% off all food and drinks in hospital stores
- Inn Collection Group – 20% off food and drinks
SAVINGS ALL YEAR ROUND
There are several reward schemes offered to employees of the NHS which offer invaluable money-saving opportunities at all times of the year.
The Blue Light card, for instance, provides those in the NHS, Emergency Services and Armed Forces with discounts both online and in store – and it seems to offer money off a ton of restaurants and retailers.
While some restaurants and retailers offer money-off deals simply for showing your NHS identification card – so no need to sign up or print of vouchers in advance.
But, like with all bargains, it is crucial to do a quick check online to make sure that this is still the best savings – particularly with the restaurants. Also, your NHS discount can’t be used in conjunction with any other offers.
